The blood art style uses a specialized crimson pigment to create high-detail, monochrome portraits that capture emotion in a way standard graphite sketches cannot. Because this medium is so focused on mood and contrast, it is most often requested for memorial tributes or gifts where the goal is to create a deep, lasting impression.
My blood art process starts with a high-quality, clear photograph. I use a distinct crimson or oxidized red medium on acid-free, 200 GSM cartridge paper to ensure the texture holds the depth of the color. This isn't actual blood, but a specialized pigment chosen for its ability to mimic the intensity and warmth of a living memory.
Every piece is treated with a fixative spray to prevent fading, ensuring the portrait remains a vibrant tribute over time. For the A4 solo portraits, the artwork is delivered unframed in a protective mailing tube. For the A3 couple portraits, I include a premium synthetic wood frame with a shatterproof acrylic sheet to ensure it is ready to hang the moment it arrives at your door. Whether it is for a wedding anniversary or a memorial, these portraits are designed to be 'nenapina chitragalu'—pictures of memories that stay with you. I work from my studio in Vijayanagar and ship these framed or unframed pieces to any location across India.
