Good henna is about more than just the pattern. Here is a look at how I make my own organic cones and practice the techniques that give you that deep, long-lasting stain.

A quick look at my henna cone making process. I mix my organic paste and then carefully fill and seal each cone by hand to ensure they are perfect for creating fine lines and detailed art.

My fresh, handmade organic henna cones, ready to be shipped or used for appointments. They are 100% halal and I guarantee a great stain.

A step by step video showing how I build up a design. I start with the main floral element and then add layers of patterns and details to create a full and beautiful party henna design.

Watch how I create a shaded rose. I start with the outline and then use fine lines to create a sense of depth and texture, making the flower look more realistic.

This video shows the process of creating a detailed forearm band. I build the design layer by layer, starting with the border and then filling it with intricate floral and grid patterns.

Practice makes perfect. This video shows how I create a complex star-like grid pattern on an acrylic sheet. This is how I practice and perfect new elements for my bridal designs.

Another practice video showing how I create a geometric grid pattern. I start with a simple grid and then fill it in to create a complex and beautiful triangular design.

I love practicing new mandala designs. This video shows the creation of a floral mandala from start to finish, including the delicate border and hanging drop details.

About Behind the Art: My Process

You might wonder why my henna stains are so dark. It starts with the paste. I mix 100% organic henna powder, eucalyptus, and tea tree oil in small batches to ensure the perfect consistency. Because I don't use chemical-heavy instant cones, I can control the flow for the finest details. When I arrive at your home, I use these freshly prepared cones so the design is precise and the stain develops into a rich, long-lasting maroon.

Many people ask me why I spend so much time making my own cones from scratch. The answer is simple: control. Chemical-laden instant cones might offer a quick fix, but they often lack the depth of color and can be harsh on your skin. By preparing my own mix, I ensure it is completely natural, safe, and tailored to give that deep, dark result everyone wants.

My practice routine is just as important. You will see videos here of me working on acrylic sheets to perfect my grids and floral shading. This is where I test how the henna flows and how my hand moves. If I cannot execute a design perfectly on a flat sheet, I will not try it on your hand. Whether I am at your place in Whitefield, Electronic City, or anywhere else in Bangalore, I bring that same discipline.

I treat every appointment like a professional session, starting with a consultation about your preferences. We discuss your story, your event theme, and the placement of your henna. My goal is to ensure you feel comfortable throughout the process, knowing that the materials are safe and the technique is refined. The result is a design that looks beautiful on your special day and fades out naturally as the stain matures.

Hi, I am Shahina. I am a henna artist based in Bangalore, and I am quite obsessive about my paste. I don't use store-bought cones because I need to know exactly what is going on your skin, which is why I make my own organic mix. When we work together, you get the result of hours of practice and fresh, natural ingredients.
