My Organic Mehendi Process & Stain
Getting that perfect, deep stain is about the quality of the henna and the patience of the application. Here is a look at how I mix my organic paste and the care I put into every line.

About The Art of Henna: Process & Stain
You might see varying stain depths in photos, but the secret is always in the organic henna mix and the application time. I always recommend keeping the paste on for at least 8 to 10 hours and avoiding water contact for the first 24 hours to really lock in that rich, dark colour.
I believe in transparency because what you put on your skin matters. I mix my own henna paste using only natural ingredients, avoiding the synthetic dyes and chemicals found in store-bought cones. This not only ensures your skin stays safe but also produces that deep, authentic maroon stain that develops over 48 hours.
The Application Process
My approach is meticulous. Whether it is a bridal session or a smaller event, I treat every design as a custom piece of art. For bridal bookings, I start by finalizing reference images, ensuring we have enough time to include personal touches like initials, portraits, or specific symbols. The application takes anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the density and coverage you choose, from mid-forearm engagement designs to full bicep-length bridal coverage.
Achieving the Best Stain
- Pre-Application: Exfoliate your skin a day before and avoid heavy lotions or oils on the day of the application so the henna can absorb properly.
- During Application: I apply a lemon-sugar sealant once the paste is dry to keep it in place longer, which helps the stain penetrate deeper.
- Post-Application: Once you scrape the dried henna off, keep your hands warm and avoid contact with water for at least one full day. The stain will naturally darken from orange to a rich reddish-brown over two days.
If you have a design in mind or want to know if your wedding date is open, just send me a message. I am based in Bengaluru and travel across the city for bookings.
