Competitive Cricket Match Practice
We move beyond the nets. At Sehwag Cricket Academy, regular competitive matches on full-sized grounds prepare young players for real-world pressure.

About Competitive Match Practice
You can practice in the nets for hours, but game sense only comes when you are under pressure on the field. Our trainees do not just train. They play full-length matches against visiting sides like the South Africa U-16 team. This exposure to different playing styles and real match environments helps them adapt their batting and bowling techniques in ways static drills simply cannot.
Why Real Match Practice Matters
Many young cricketers get stuck in a loop of repetitive net practice. While muscle memory is important, it does not prepare a player for the psychological pressure of a real game. Our competitive match practice sessions at the Jhajjar campus are designed to bridge this gap.
The Campus Advantage
Our residential camp at Sehwag International School, Jhajjar, provides access to full-sized grounds that are maintained to professional standards. This allows our trainees to experience the full scope of a cricket field, from pitch conditions to boundary distances. We host various teams, including international youth squads, providing our students with a chance to face bowling attacks and batting lineups they have never encountered before.
What Trainees Gain
- Decision Making: Learning when to leave a ball, how to rotate the strike, and when to attack.
- Match Simulation: Handling situations like chasing a total or defending a low score in the final overs.
- Fielding Awareness: Understanding angles, backing up, and communication between fielders.
- Recovery: Access to swimming and proper nutrition, ensuring they are physically ready for match days.
By placing our students in competitive scenarios, we help them transition from training mode to match mode, fostering the confidence needed to perform when it counts.
