About Emotional Reunions & Happy Hellos
When you see your dog run to you, you know they didn't just 'stay'—they lived here as part of my family. I make sure every reunion is calm, so your dog doesn't get over-excited, ensuring a stress-free transition back to your home life.
More Than Just a Stay
When a dog comes to Second Home, they aren't 'boarding' in a clinical sense. They are hanging out with their friends, eating home-cooked meals, and sleeping on sofas. Because they feel safe and secure, they are always happy to see their parents, but they are also genuinely sad to leave their friends behind. This balance is what I work hard to achieve every single day.
How We Manage the Reunion
You will notice in these videos that the dogs are excited but not anxious. That is intentional. I focus on routine—daily walks, group socialization, and consistent human interaction—so your dog stays balanced. By the time you arrive to pick them up, they have already had their fill of play and exercise, which keeps the reunion focused on love rather than separation anxiety.
Common Questions About Our Care
Do you handle separation anxiety? Many dogs come to me nervous, but they quickly settle because they are never caged. When dogs have the freedom to roam and socialize, they build confidence. By the time you return, they are usually much more relaxed than when they first dropped off.
Can I get daily updates? Yes. I know how hard it is to leave your bachha behind. I send regular photo and video updates so you can see exactly how they are spending their day, eating their meals, and making friends.
What if my dog is shy? I take my time. Whether your dog is a tiny chotu or a big floof, I adapt to their personality. I sit on the floor with them, offer comfort, and introduce them to the pack slowly. No pressure, just patience.
