Residential Sanctuaries: Crafting Personal Living Spaces
We design homes that go beyond mere aesthetics, focusing on how light, ventilation, and natural materials can create a space that feels uniquely yours. Every project is built to frame the landscape it occupies.
This concept for a lake house in Lonavala features an open dining pavilion that merges with the landscape. The angled wooden roof structure is designed to provide shelter while allowing for natural cross-ventilation and unobstructed panoramic views of the water.
About Residential Sanctuaries
When we approach a home, we start with the breeze and the light path rather than the walls. In projects like our Pavna lake house, we implemented angled wooden roof structures to form expansive, open dining pavilions. This allows for unobstructed panoramic views and natural cross-ventilation, ensuring the residence remains thermally comfortable throughout the year.
Our Approach to Residential Design
Architecture is not merely about construction, it is about how we influence your experience of a space. For our residential projects, we prioritize context-aware layouts, orienting your living areas to maximize natural light and airflow. We often suggest removing internal walls to improve the flow of air, creating a seamless connection between indoor rooms and exterior decks using large-span glazing.
Structural Aesthetics
We believe in showing the skeleton of a home. Instead of hiding roof trusses or beams behind false ceilings, we treat them as aesthetic elements. Whether using wood or metal, these exposed structural components add volume to the space, which is particularly effective in double-height living areas or vacation homes with mezzanines.
Materiality and Sustainability
Our material palette is driven by what works for the local climate. We prefer local natural stones like Kota or Granite, paired with solid wood and textured plasters. This approach is not just about looks. Using natural materials allows for better thermal regulation. We also specialize in custom woodwork for island kitchens, walk-in wardrobes, and vanity units, using premium veneers with weather-resistant coatings to ensure longevity.
The Process
We build by debating and sketching, not just drawing. We use physical models to help you see and feel the volume of the space before construction starts. This ensures that every decision, from the placement of a window to the choice of a ceiling finish, serves a clear purpose.
