Our Performance Journey: From Delhi to Destination Weddings

The scale of my setup changes depending on the venue requirements. For a massive hotel ballroom like The Ashok or The Tivoli, we bring our full 14-piece orchestra to fill the space with a grand Sufi fusion sound, whereas for intimate farmhouse events or private gatherings, I curate a tight, focused ensemble to keep the 'mehfil' vibe centered.

Every venue has a different heartbeat, and my band, Murshid, has learned to tune into each one. Whether we are performing at a luxury property like The Umrao in Delhi or a destination resort in Jim Corbett, our priority remains the same: creating a 'Sham-e-Rouhani' that resonates with the audience.

Adaptability in Sound

We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. For traditional baithaks, we strip back the production to acoustic instruments—Tabla, Harmonium, and Dholak—to allow the raag and the shayeri to breathe. When the event calls for a high-energy dance floor, we expand the arrangement to include a full drum kit, electric guitars, and keyboards. This versatility allows us to transition seamlessly from a soulful Ghazal evening to a high-octane Bollywood night.

Traveling for the Music

While our roots are in Delhi-NCR, our journey has taken us across the country. Performing in cities like Jaipur, Lucknow, and Moradabad has taught us how to connect with different crowds. We bring our own backline, sound engineers, and musical instruments, ensuring that no matter the location, the quality of our sound remains consistent. We are accustomed to coordinating with event managers and venue production teams to ensure that the setup is seamless, leaving you to focus only on the music.
