Custom Embroidered Sarees

A saree is a canvas for memories, and I specialize in adorning them with timeless hand embroidery. I work on a variety of fabrics like Kanjeevaram silks, crepes, and cottons, using techniques such as Zardosi, Kamal Kadai, and mirror work to create a piece that is uniquely yours.

Bespoke Blouses & Apparel

Embroidery is not just for sarees. I love working on custom blouses, men's kurtas, and upcycled jackets, turning everyday apparel into something personal and meaningful. Whether it's a simple neckline or an all-over pattern, hand-stitching adds a unique touch of artistry.

The Art of Kasuti: A GI-Certified Heritage

As a GI-certified artisan for Kasuti, this craft is very close to my heart. Originating from Karnataka, Kasuti is a counted-thread embroidery known for its intricate, reversible patterns stitched without knots. Every motif, from temple gopuras to chariots and peacocks, tells a story.

A World of Stitches

While Kasuti is my specialty, my passion extends to over 25 embroidery styles from around the world. From the running stitch of Japanese Sashiko and Indian Kantha to the dimensional florals of Brazilian embroidery, I love exploring and teaching the stories that different cultures tell with thread.

Hoop Art & Framed Textiles

Embroidery can be art for your walls, not just your wardrobe. I create custom hoop art and framed textile pieces that serve as unique home decor. From intricate floral designs to modern geometric patterns, each piece is stitched with care to become a treasured focal point in your space.

Hand-Stitched Accessories

A touch of hand embroidery can make everyday accessories special. I create custom bookmarks, pouches, and even unique inserts for transparent phone cases. These small, personalized items are a wonderful way to carry a piece of art with you.

Upcycling: New Life for Old Treasures

One of my greatest passions is giving old garments a new story. An old Kanjeevaram, a plain kurta, or even a worn shawl can be transformed with thoughtful embroidery. This sustainable practice of upcycling not only saves a beloved piece from being discarded but turns it into a new, cherished heirloom.

My Studio & Creative Process

Welcome to Sameeksha Studio, my creative sanctuary in Bangalore. This is where ideas take shape, where I teach, and where every piece is stitched with mindfulness and care. Here’s a look behind the scenes at my process, the tools of my trade, and the space where the magic happens.

Workshops & The Joy of Learning

Sharing my knowledge is as important as creating. At my Sameeksha School of Embroidery, I offer workshops for all levels, from beginners to advanced artisans. It is a joy to watch students discover the meditative power of stitching and create their own beautiful pieces.

A Legacy of Stitches: My Mother's Journal

My journey with embroidery began with my mother. In 1963, she documented her learning in tailoring, knitting, crochet, and hand embroidery in a journal. This precious book, filled with her meticulous work, is my legacy and my greatest inspiration. It is a constant reminder of the skill and creativity that has been passed down to me.

Client Diaries & Collaborations

It brings me immense joy to see my creations worn and loved by clients, or to collaborate with fellow artisans and organizations. This is a collection of happy moments, from clients sharing photos from special occasions to my participation in cultural events.
