About Iconic Destination: The Taj Mahal
Shooting at the Taj Mahal requires a specific plan, mostly because of the morning crowds. I typically aim for sunrise, not just for the soft light, but to capture those serene, private moments before the complex gets busy. We will skip the standard tourist framing and look for angles near the Yamuna river to get that perfect, undisturbed shot that focuses entirely on you.
The Taj Mahal is iconic, but the secret to a great shoot there is patience and timing. As an experienced photographer, I guide couples through the process and suggest the quietest times to visit. We often start before the gates open to catch the first light hitting the marble. I also take couples on a small boat ride on the Yamuna river, which offers a stunning, reflection-filled view that most visitors miss.
Regarding attire, the white marble contrasts beautifully with deep, rich colors. Think emerald greens, royal blues, or traditional maroons. I recommend avoiding overly busy patterns so the focus remains on you and the monument. Since this involves travel, we plan the shoot as a destination project. This allows us to dedicate a full two days to cover sunrise and sunset, ensuring we are not rushing. We handle the documentary-style film scripting in advance, so when we arrive, you are relaxed and ready to be yourselves, not just models.
