Filmy & Folk Dance Classes for Kids
Where traditional rhythm meets movie magic. We blend vibrant Indian folk steps with the energy of your favorite Kannada and Tamil hits for kids in the heart of Banashankari.
Our students learn a vibrant filmy folk dance routine set to the hit Tamil song 'Ranjithame'. This class style combines cinematic flair with traditional dance elements.
A powerful performance by our beginners batch to the Kannada devotional song 'Sri Anjaneyam'. This showcases how we incorporate cultural and traditional themes into our dance lessons.
About Filmy & Folk Fusion
Our classes run on a simple rhythm: we spend the first 30 minutes on traditional folk footwork to build balance and posture, then switch to high-energy film choreography for the remaining time. Every student gets a chance to perform for our periodic video shoots, which we film right here in the studio so they can see their own progress and confidence grow on screen.
We believe that dance shouldn't be about rigid perfection, but about the joy of movement. By mixing classical foundation with the latest Kannada and Tamil hits, we keep things fresh for our students aged 4 to 15.
Why Folk and Filmy?
Indian cinema has a way of making tradition accessible. When kids dance to a song they recognize, they learn faster and enjoy it more. We layer in proper Mudras and rhythmic footwork—the building blocks of folk—without the pressure of traditional training. This approach helps children build confidence while staying connected to our local roots.
How We Teach
We keep our groups small to ensure every child gets the space they need. Beginners start by mastering the basics of rhythm before moving on to fast-paced cinematic routines.
- Foundation: Learning basic steps, timing, and posture.
- Choreography: Applying those basics to trending songs.
- Capture: Periodic video sessions where kids learn to perform in front of the camera, a skill that boosts their self-esteem immensely.
Our Studio Vibe
Classes happen on our polished granite floors in Banashankari, designed to be more like a community hangout than a formal classroom. It is a space where the music is loud, the steps are fun, and every child leaves with a smile and a little more rhythm than when they walked in.
