Surajkund Mela Landscaping: Behind the Scenes
Transforming the fairgrounds takes serious grit, late nights, and non-stop watering. Here is what it actually looks like to keep the Surajkund Mela green and pristine.
The first step in our community greening project at the Surajkund Mela. Here, I am carefully marking out the pattern for a large floral display directly onto the prepared soil bed before we begin planting.
An early morning tour of the mela grounds before the gates open. Part of our daily ritual involves checking on all the landscaped areas, ensuring the plants are watered and the grounds are pristine for the day's visitors.
This is a look at our on-site plant maintenance service in action. From a moving vehicle, I am overseeing the sprinkler systems that keep the main pathways and entrances of the Surajkund Mela green and fresh.

One of our highlight installations for the mela, a custom-built bamboo treehouse, glowing under the event lights. This shows how our event landscaping services can create unique and eye-catching green focal points.

About Surajkund Mela: Behind the Scenes
Getting the ground ready isn't just about placing plants; it's about endurance. We till the raw earth, condition the soil with heavy-duty mixes like Greenosil, and set up temporary industrial watering systems to keep everything alive through high foot traffic. It is dirty, manual labor, but it is the only way to ensure the landscape holds up for the entire event.
Working at an event like the Surajkund Mela is less about aesthetics and more about structural endurance. When you are dealing with thousands of visitors, you need plants that can handle the traffic and soil that won't turn to dust by noon. My team and I handle the entire lifecycle of the greening, starting from the raw earth tilling to the final tear-down.
We usually install 500 seasonal saplings per 1000 square feet, framing pathways with hardy, vibrant options like Croton Petra and Aglaonema Lipstick. For the boundary markers and backdrops, we rely on larger statement pieces like Zamia Palms that don't wilt easily. The real challenge, though, is the maintenance. We run off-hour shifts throughout the event to clear dust, check sprinkler lines, and re-water everything so it looks fresh before the public gates open again the next morning.
It is dusty, loud, and constant, but that is the reality of large-scale event landscaping in Faridabad. If you need this kind of reliable, round-the-clock greening for your own event, residential society, or corporate grounds, we are ready to get our boots muddy and make it happen.
