A slice of tradition. This stunning cake is designed to look like a folded Paithani saree, complete with an edible mangalsutra and nath. It's a beautiful tribute to our culture, made entirely from whipped cream and fondant.
Celebrating a beautiful journey of togetherness. This anniversary cake features a 2D handcrafted fondant figurine of a couple in traditional attire, framed by an elegant golden border.
A reel of sweet memories for Mumma's birthday. This cake features an edible photo strip with cherished family pictures, combining modern personalization with a classic, elegant design.
Another beautiful photo reel cake, this time with a silver and white theme. It's a wonderful way to showcase precious memories for a loved one's birthday.
About Traditional Maharashtrian Themes
My Paithani saree cake is one of my favourites because of the tiny details, like the edible gold-leaf border and the delicate handcrafted fondant mangalsutra. It takes a very steady hand to get the saree drape pattern to look just right, but seeing the look on Aai or a loved one's face when they see it makes every hour of work worth it.
Celebrating Roots with Every Slice
When I design a cake around Maharashtrian themes, my goal is to blend modern baking with the aesthetics we all know and love. Whether it is a surprise for a golden jubilee anniversary or a special birthday for your Aai, these cakes are designed to be a conversation starter at the table.
The Art of the Saree Cake
The Paithani saree design is my signature style here in Dombivli. I use a combination of whipped cream for the base and fondant for the intricate border work and embellishments like the 'Nath' (nose ring) or 'Mangalsutra'. Because these are 100% eggless, they fit perfectly into traditional family gatherings where everyone, from the kids to the elders, can enjoy a slice.
Custom Details That Matter
Beyond just the theme, I focus on the little things that make a cake feel personal. If you have a specific colour palette in mind—perhaps a classic green and gold for the saree—I can match the edible dust and fondant work to bring that vision to life.
Important Planning Tips
- Design Time: Since these traditional themes require intricate hand-work, I recommend booking your cake at least 4 days in advance.
- Flavor Pairing: For these dense, beautifully decorated cakes, I suggest our premium Blueberry or Truffle sponges, which hold their shape well while staying soft.
- Pick-up: All orders are for self-pickup from my home bakery in Dombivli East, so please arrange for a flat surface in your car for transport.
