Modern Fusion Sitar: Bollywood and Pop Hits for Your Event
Classical ragas meet your favorite pop anthems. I bridge the gap between tradition and today to create a vibe that hits different. 🔱
The Game of Thrones theme on sitar, live in New York. This is a crowd favorite and shows how I can transform an epic score into a powerful live performance for galas and themed parties.
A sitar cover of 'The Godfather' theme, performed with my jazz and blues ensemble. This kind of fusion is perfect for creating a sophisticated, high-energy vibe at corporate functions or private parties.
My sitar version of 'My Heart Will Go On' from Titanic, performed live in Ahmedabad. I take requests and can craft a setlist of iconic movie themes and love songs for weddings and anniversaries.
A soulful sitar cover of the Bollywood classic 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' with the Eiffel Tower in the background. This is the romantic, dreamy vibe I can create for proposals or pre-wedding events.
Playing 'Kahi Toh Hogi Woh' in Dumbo, NYC. My lofi sitar covers of popular romantic songs are perfect for creating a chill, modern ambiance.
A lofi sitar cover of 'Kal Ho Na Ho' overlooking the Mumbai skyline. This is ideal for relaxed social mixers or as welcome music for an event.
A live encore performance of 'Tumhi Dekho Naa' in Mumbai. I love interacting with the audience and playing their favorite Bollywood hits.
Another clip of the 'Tumhi Dekho Naa' lofi sitar version, a perfect example of the soulful, modern Bollywood sets I perform.

My mashup of 'Zara Zara' and 'Tinka Tinka', performed live at a UNESCO World Heritage site in Nepal. I can create unique mashups and fusions tailored to your event's theme.
About Modern Fusion: Pop Culture & Bollywood Hits
I don't just play covers. I re-imagine them. Whether I am using my traditional Rikhi Ram sitar for a soft 'Saathiya' or plugging in the 'Red Zitar' for high-octane Bollywood hits, my sound is all about the pedalboard. I use Strymon and Eventide effects to layer soundscapes that keep the energy moving, whether it is a cocktail hour or a late-night sangeet vibe.
My approach to music is simple: music is a movement, and the sitar is the vehicle. I spent years training under the great Pt. Ravi Shankar, so when I play a cover of a track like 'Zara Zara' or the 'Game of Thrones' theme, I am anchoring it in classical technique while giving it a fresh, global edge.
How I Style Your Event
- The Vibe: I tailor the setup to your space. For intimate dinners or proposals, it is just me and the traditional sitar—pure, acoustic, and deep. For galas or sangeets where we need more energy, I bring in my full band and the custom Rik-E-Sitar for that electronic, rock-fusion sound.
- The Repertoire: From AR Rahman hits to global chart-toppers, I keep my setlists current. I don't just provide background music; I curate a soundscape. If you want a meditational segment before the party starts, we can do that. If you want the crowd on their feet with high-tempo fusion, I have the band for that too.
Why This Works
People often think of the sitar as only for concerts. I am here to flip that narrative. I have played everywhere from the White House to UNESCO heritage sites in Nepal. I understand how to read a room, whether it is a corporate crowd in Bangalore or a family wedding in NYC. My goal is to make sure your guests aren't just listening—they are feeling.
