Sitar for Mental Health: Experience the Collective Energy
Music is better shared. My performances aren't just about me playing on stage; they’re about the connection we build in the room. This is what it looks like when we all breathe, listen, and heal together.
"It just hits right on the third eye." Hearing how my music creates a meditative and soulful experience for people is the greatest reward. This video captures some audience reactions from my New York show.
A full house in London, with the audience giving a standing ovation. The energy and appreciation from the crowd is what makes every show special.
The audience in London, fully engaged and applauding during the show.
Sharing a hug with an audience member after a show. These moments of personal connection are incredibly meaningful to me.
Audience members joining us on stage for a song. My shows are interactive, and I love creating a sense of shared celebration.
A fan capturing the moment on their phone. It's amazing to see the performance through the eyes of the audience.
About this collection
You won't find a passive crowd at my shows. Whether we're doing deep breathwork or high-energy fusion, the room becomes part of the performance. We’ve had hundreds of people in New York and London syncing their breath to the rhythm of the sitar—that kind of collective energy changes how people actually feel by the end of the night.
My journey with the sitar, passed down from my Guru Pt. Ravi Shankar and my family of luthier masters, has taught me one big lesson: the music doesn't truly live until it hits the audience. When I started the 'Sitar for Mental Health' movement, the goal was never just to perform for a room, but to invite everyone into the headspace I’m in.
In this gallery, you’re seeing the result of that vision. It is raw, it is real, and it is entirely interactive. We don't do background music here. In my corporate wellness sessions, we start with guided breathwork and move into Ragas designed for grounding. For my private parties and galas, we shift into a fusion mode, moving from classical roots to Bollywood covers that get people singing along.
What you get is a performance that works for your crowd, whether they need to de-stress or celebrate. I bring a full ensemble, my custom Rikhi Ram sitars, and a signature setup—floor rugs, soft lighting, and sound processing—that turns any venue into a sanctuary. My father, Sanjay Rikhiram Sharma, handcrafted the instruments I play, which means you’re hearing a deep, bass-heavy resonance you won't get from a standard concert sitar.
If you want your event to have a pulse, to be something your guests actually remember because they felt it, let's talk. We'll curate a setlist that hits the right vibe, whether it's a meditative session for your team or a high-energy set for your wedding cocktail night.
Rishab Rikhiram Sharma
I'm Rishab, and I’m taking the sitar out of the concert hall and into the community. My mission is simple: to make ancient Indian music a tool for modern mental wellness and collective joy. When you hire me, you aren't just booking a performer; you're bringing a movement that gets people out of their seats and connected.
