My devotional sets aren't just background noise. I curate an immersive sanctuary using floor rugs, LED wax candles, and my personal pedalboard to fuse traditional ragas with ambient soundscapes. Whether for a puja or a spiritual retreat, the music is designed to shift the energy of the room and help your guests find peace.
For me, music is a bridge to the divine. When I perform at religious ceremonies or spiritual gatherings, my goal is to create a space that feels both timeless and deeply personal. I draw from a wide repertoire, including the powerful 'Shiv Tandav Stotram' and traditional bhajans like 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram', which I’ve performed everywhere from Patan Darbar Square to intimate living rooms in New York.
My approach to devotional music is rooted in the 'Sitar for Mental Health' philosophy. I use techniques like solo Alap, Jod, and Jhala, enhanced by my pedalboard for an ethereal, ambient sound that aids in meditation. It is not just about playing the notes, it is about the silence between them.
Whether you are hosting a formal puja, a family gathering, or a wellness retreat, I tailor the experience to your needs. My setup is visual and auditory—I use traditional floor seating, soft lighting, and an aesthetic that complements the sanctity of your event. I often collaborate with a tabla player or flutist to add layers to the sound, ensuring the energy remains grounded and resonant. My roots are in the Rikhi Ram family and the teachings of Pt.
