About Ravi Chary Sitar Symphony
Bringing a 25-piece sitar ensemble to your stage is more than just a musical performance; it is a complex production. We manage everything from the sound engineering required to balance multiple sitars with percussion and keyboards to ensuring the seating arrangement fits the venue's acoustics perfectly.
The Sitar Symphony is my way of expanding the reach of Indian classical music. It started as a vision to showcase the potential of my students—advanced practitioners who have spent years training under the guru-shishya tradition. When we perform, it is not a chaotic mix of instruments. We carefully plan our raags and fusion pieces so that every sitar adds to the texture rather than competing for volume.
We have performed everywhere from the heritage halls of Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur to concert stages in Pune and Ahmedabad. Whether you are hosting a corporate festival, a private gathering, or a large public event, we can scale our troupe to fit. For 'Talasakhi,' we brought 33 women sitarists on stage; for other corporate events, we might arrange a tighter fusion set with drums and keyboards.
If you are planning an event, we need to discuss the stage dimensions and sound setup well in advance. Because we work with large groups, the acoustics are paramount. My team is used to the logistical demands of traveling and performing across India, and we approach every concert with the same discipline we bring to our academy practice.
