About Planting & Decorative Details
Choosing the right plants is half the battle. I focus on hardy, high-impact options like Bougainvillea or Ixora for our Mumbai climate because they provide vibrant color without needing constant, delicate maintenance.
A garden without decorative details is just a patch of grass. I focus on creating layers, whether it is a small balcony or a full villa plot. I use brick masonry for planters finished with polished black granite or marble coping to give a clean, modern frame to the greenery.
My Approach to Details
- Hardscape Accents: I use white polished pebbles and stepping stones to create paths that keep your lawn clean while adding a finished, 3D look to the garden.
- Plant Selection: My go-to choices for our climate are semi-mature palms like Foxtail or Areca, paired with shrubs like Crotons or Peace Lilies for shaded areas.
- Structural Integrity: I ensure every planter has proper drainage and soil enrichment with vermicompost or cow dung manure. This is why my projects look healthy long after I leave, rather than just looking good for a week.
