Engagement Photography That Captures Your Real Promise
Whether it is a surprise proposal or a traditional ring ceremony, I capture the raw emotion of the moment you say yes. Here is a look at how I document the start of your journey together.
The pure, unscripted joy of a proposal. Nikita's laughter as Dhananjay gets down on one knee is a perfect example of the candid, emotional moments I aim to capture during an engagement ceremony.
A magical proposal moment captured amidst a shower of confetti. I ensure every detail, from the emotional expressions to the celebratory atmosphere, is beautifully preserved.
A collage from an outdoor garden engagement, showing the tender moment of the ring exchange and the happy, relaxed portraits that follow. The natural light here adds a soft, romantic feel.
The traditional ring exchange ceremony is a cornerstone of the engagement. I capture both the formal placement of the ring and the gentle, respectful kiss to the hand that follows.
A close-up of the ring exchange during a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony. The focus is on the hands, adorned with intricate henna and green bangles, symbolizing the union.
A creative shot where the couple holds their engagement rings together, with them as a soft focus in the background. It’s a symbolic photo that highlights both their commitment and their connection.
Another angle of the proposal, showing the groom's hopeful expression as he presents the ring. Capturing multiple perspectives ensures the full story of this moment is told.
Srushti and Nikhil during their ring ceremony. I focus on the gentle interaction and happy smiles as they formalize their commitment in front of family and friends.
A wider shot of the ring exchange, showing the beautiful floral backdrop and the couple's interaction. This provides context and captures the ambiance of the event.
A collection of moments from Shivani and Amey's ring ceremony, from him kissing her hand to them proudly showing off their rings. These are the small gestures that tell a big story.
About The "Yes" Moment
I do not just shoot the ceremony, I look for the split-second reactions, like the nervous smile during a ring exchange or the relief right after a proposal. My approach combines candid documentation with deliberate lighting setups, even in indoor banquet halls, ensuring those tiny, honest moments are as crisp as the posed shots.
Engagement photography is about timing. In a traditional Maharashtrian Sakharpuda or a modern surprise proposal, the most important frames often happen in under a second. My job is to be ready for the ring slide, the handshake, and the sudden laugh that follows.
I use the Nikon Z6 and Z7 mirrorless system, which allows me to work silently without intruding on intimate moments. If your event is in a banquet hall, I bring professional off-camera lighting. This keeps the background looking rich while keeping the focus entirely on the two of you, avoiding the flat look that often happens with simple on-camera flash.
Whether we are in a Dadar hall, a garden in Thane, or on a quiet beach, I frame your portraits to reflect the atmosphere of the venue while keeping the spotlight on your connection. I focus on details like the ring texture and the henna patterns because these elements tell the story of your culture and commitment. For your session, we can do a mix: a few classic, formal shots for the family, but mostly, I want you to be yourself. When you forget the camera is there, that is when the best images happen.
