Professional Badminton Drills and Technique Training
I use multi-shuttle drills to sharpen your footwork and reflexes, ensuring every shot you play on the court is intentional.
The court is covered in shuttles after an intense multi-feed drill. This type of training maximizes hitting time and pushes players to maintain form and stamina even when tired.
It's training time! This clip shows a footwork and shot placement drill where young players move between cones to practice hitting from different court positions.
A look at a group training session where players practice their overhead clears and drops. I focus on teaching the right technique for a variety of shots to build a well-rounded game.
This is a high-intensity doubles defense drill. Players practice returning rapid shots from the coach, improving their reflexes and defensive posture under pressure.
Blazing defense in action. This montage shows players of different levels working on their defensive skills, a critical component for winning tough rallies.
From agility ladder jumps to on-court rallies, this video showcases the complete training loop. We start with fitness and then apply that athleticism directly to badminton drills.
A snapshot of a typical day at the academy. You can see players practicing footwork drills, engaging in rallies, and doing cool-down stretches, covering all aspects of a complete training session.
About On-Court Drills & Technique
I run my drills at Eskay Resorts, specifically using feather shuttles to mimic match-speed conditions, which plastic shuttles just cannot replicate. We don't just rally; we break down doubles rotation and net defense, so you learn to handle the shuttle under real-match pressure rather than just keeping it in the air.
Badminton is a game of high-speed reactions and precise movement, and that is exactly how I structure my sessions. If you are standing still, you are losing points. That is why our training at Eskay Resorts in Borivali West focuses heavily on footwork and repetitive muscle memory.
My approach to on-court drills is systematic. We use multi-shuttle feeds to force you into movement patterns until they become second nature. Whether it is an overhead clear, a tight net drop, or a defensive lift, we practice it until the technique is clean. For my doubles players, we work specifically on rotation and communication, which are often the deciding factors in a close match.
Here is how we typically structure a session:
- Technical Drills: Isolation work to fix your grip and swing path.
- Reaction & Reflexes: Fast-paced smash and tap drills to speed up your decision-making.
- Match Simulation: Applying those specific drills into a live rally scenario to ensure you can execute under pressure.
This training is for anyone who wants to stop guessing their shots and start hitting with intent. We maintain a high-intensity environment, but as I always say, there is always room for a bit of 'full on masti' while you sweat it out. If you are serious about improving your game, bring your racket and non-marking shoes—I will handle the rest.
