My Process: Honest & Handmade Soap Making

byYour Time SoapStudio in Malad East, MumbaiView full gallery

Soap making is a patient ritual. I stick to the cold process method because it keeps all the natural goodness in—no shortcuts, just honest ingredients.

This is where the magic happens. Here I am mixing a batch of my cold processed red wine and coconut oil soap. It's a patient process, but it ensures all the natural glycerin stays in the bar to keep your skin hydrated.

I only use herbal and natural ingredients that work to clear impurities and support a healthy complexion. No drama, no harsh chemicals, just pure goodness from nature.

Pouring a fresh batch. My soaps are always free from sulphates and parabens, making them gentle enough for all skin types. This is a chemical-free cleansing your skin will actually thank you for.

About this collection

When I make my cold process bars, I wait four to six weeks for them to cure properly. This patience is non-negotiable because it ensures the pH is balanced and all that natural glycerin stays locked in. You get a bar that cleans without stripping your skin, which is the main reason I won't ever rush the process.

Why I Choose Cold Process

Most commercial soaps are just detergents stripped of their benefits. I prefer the traditional cold process because it allows me to control exactly what goes into the bar. By mixing coconut oil, lotus, and even red wine at low temperatures, I preserve the natural glycerin that your skin actually craves. It’s a slower method, but the result is a dense, long-lasting bar that doesn't melt away in your soap dish after two uses.

Ingredients Matter

If I can't pronounce it, I won't put it in the soap. My recipes are free from sulphates and parabens. Instead, I use:

  • Coconut and Palm Oil blends for a hard, cleansing bar that lathers well.
  • Herbal additives like ground coffee or red sandalwood for natural exfoliation.
  • Essential oils like Ylang Ylang and Oudh for scents that actually soothe, rather than overpowering your senses.

Clean Beauty from Malad

Everything you see here is made by me in my studio in Malad East. I’m a one-woman show, which means I handle the mixing, the pouring, and the plastic-free packaging personally. Whether you are in Mumbai or anywhere else in India, you are getting a bar that has been treated with care, not a mass-produced product sitting on a shelf.

Got sensitive skin? I generally recommend starting with my unscented cold-process bars before moving to the aromatherapy blends. Just send me a message if you are unsure what your skin needs.
