The Art of Cold Process Soap Making
See how I transform raw, natural ingredients into gentle, skin-loving soaps using traditional cold process methods.
A detailed look into making my Multani Mitti and Charcoal soap. In this video, I explain in Tamil how I use four different oils and blend the powders separately to ensure a perfect, even mix in every bar.
Pouring different soap batters into molds. You can see the unique patterns forming, like the black and white swirl of a charcoal soap and the layered colours of another custom blend.
The big reveal. This satisfying video shows a freshly made loaf of Aloe Vera Charcoal soap, which looks almost like a milk sweet before it's cut into individual bars.
One of the most exciting steps is unmolding the soap after it has set for 24 hours. Here, I am taking out the custom-ordered Multani Mitti and Charcoal bars, each with a unique, handmade pattern.
The final touches on a designer soap loaf. I am piping colourful soap frosting onto the top of my Unicorn soap, showing how passion for my hobby turns into a business I love.
Even the tiny details are handmade. This is me piping small soap embeds that will be used as decorative horns on my Unicorn Cupcake soaps.
Adding skin-safe mica colours to the soap batter to create the vibrant swirls for my new Unicorn soap edition. Pre-bookings are now open for these magical bars.
Just in time for winter, I am bringing back my Honey soap. Watch as I pour the rich, honey-infused glycerin base into honeycomb molds. It lathers beautifully and feels so comforting on the skin.
I believe in using fresh, natural ingredients. Here you can see me cutting up fresh country papaya, which then goes into the base for my skin-brightening Papaya soap.
About The Art of Cold Process Soap Making
Good things take time. Because I use the traditional cold process method, every single bar I make needs 30 to 40 days to cure perfectly. This patience ensures a harder, longer-lasting bar that is truly gentle on your skin. If you are looking to place an order, please keep this waiting period in mind.
I believe that if you cannot read the ingredient label, you should not put it on your skin. That is why I stick to the basics. My cold process soaps start with a base blend of coconut, castor, and sesame oils, combined with premium additives like avocado butter, French clay, or activated charcoal.
The process is simple chemistry but requires real dedication. I mix the lye and oils carefully, then pour the batter into molds. Unlike mass-produced soaps that are ready in minutes, my bars require that 40-day cure time. During these weeks, the saponification process completes, the pH levels balance out, and the water evaporates, leaving you with a durable, non-drying bar.
Since I handle everything from my workshop, I can customize these blends. Need something for sensitive skin? I can swap in different clays or essential oils. Whether it is an Aloe Vera Charcoal bar for acne or a soothing Multani Mitti blend, the result is always a soap that respects your skin barrier without any SLS, parabens, or synthetic hardeners.
