Hand-Drawn Portraits of South Indian Cinema Icons
Capturing the raw power and charisma of South Indian cinema's biggest legends, drawn entirely by hand. These aren't just sketches; they are my tribute to the characters that define our screen.
An experimental invert art piece of 'Rocky Bhai'. This unique style uses negative space to create a high-contrast, powerful image of the Sandalwood superstar Yash.
A special commissioned portrait capturing the beautiful chemistry of Aadi and Nidhima from the Kannada movie 'Love Mocktail'. This piece is a tribute to their on-screen love story.
About Titans of South Indian Cinema
Getting a hyper-realistic portrait of your favorite cinema icon takes time. Because I rely on the grid method for anatomical precision, every piece goes through specific stages of layering shadows and textures. If you commission an A3 size piece of a duo or a complex scene, expect 70 to 90 hours of dedicated pencil work. I provide regular progress updates so you see the drawing take shape from a blank page to the final render.
Why I Draw These Icons
When I draw characters like Rocky Bhai from KGF or scenes from Love Mocktail, I am not just replicating a photo. I am channeling the energy of the film. My work is about catching the soul of the character—the way a gaze holds tension or how a smile brings warmth. I use top-grade 250 GSM paper and professional graphite to ensure that every texture, from the stubble on a warrior's chin to the fabric of a kurta, looks real.
The Process Behind the Art
People often ask how I get the proportions so accurate. It is the grid method. I map out the face carefully before I even pick up a darker shade of charcoal. Once the structure is locked, I build the shadows. Some of my work requires over 90 hours of focus. This is not about being fast; it is about being precise.
Your Custom Commission
If you want to own a piece of art that celebrates a legendary character or a special moment from a movie, I can help. Whether it is an A4 single portrait for your wall or a complex A3 piece for a gift, I work with you to make sure the likeness is 100% accurate. Every piece is signed, sprayed with a fixative to prevent smudging, and shipped in a crush-proof PVC tube so it reaches you safely anywhere in India.
