I draw our beloved legends—from poets to cinema stars—with graphite and charcoal to keep their memory alive. Every stroke is a small tribute to the culture I love.

A powerful charcoal portrait of Natasarvabhouma Dr. Rajkumar in a dramatic role. I focused on the intensity in his eyes and the ornate details of his costume and crown.

A portrait of our Rashtrakavi, Kuvempu. This drawing is my humble tribute to the great writer who has given us so much.

A finished pencil portrait of the great Kannada poet, Da Ra Bendre. I tried to capture the wisdom and kindness in his expression, along with his iconic look.

A tribute to Sahasasimha Dr. Vishnuvardhan on his birthday. This charcoal drawing captures his classic, thoughtful expression from the movie 'Bandhana'.

A charcoal drawing of the one and only Shankar Nag. I wanted to capture his intense and charismatic presence that is still remembered and loved by all Kannadigas.

A portrait of Challenging Star D Boss Darshan. This sketch, done from a photo, captures his powerful look. I also carefully recreated the tattoo on his chest.

A sketch of Baadshah Kiccha Sudeep, inspired by his appearance on Bigg Boss. This was drawn in my sketchbook, capturing his stylish and commanding presence.

A pencil drawing of the beloved writer K. P. Poornachandra Tejaswi. His words, 'Matanadabekada sandarbhadalli mouna kayuttiruvudu tumba kettaddu' (It is very bad to remain silent when you must speak), are an inspiration.

My pencil portrait of Sangeetha Saraswathi, K. S. Chithra amma. I tried to capture the emotion and passion she pours into her singing.

A tribute to Mandyad Gandu, Rebel Star Ambareesh. This pencil sketch is my way of remembering the iconic actor and his powerful screen presence.

About Nanna Preethiya Kannadambe: Tributes to Icons

When I sketch these icons, I do not just copy a photo. I look for the specific expression that made them famous—the sparkle in Dr. Rajkumar's eyes or the wisdom in Kuvempu's gaze. I use a mix of graphite and charcoal to capture those details on 180 GSM cartridge paper, ensuring the portrait feels alive and not like a flat print.
