Move beyond basic drawing with our deep-dive projects. We focus on technique, composition, and global art history to help your child find their unique creative voice.

Happiness is a finished work of art. This 8-year-old student proudly displays her colorful house painting, done with acrylics on paper.

A smiling student shows off her beautiful seahorse painting. In this project, our 6 to 9-year-olds learned about the underwater world using watercolors.

A close-up of a finished watercolor seahorse. The students learned blending and layering techniques to create the vibrant red and orange scales.

A student carefully adds details to her seahorse painting. This project helps develop fine motor control and an understanding of color gradients.

Another proud artist with her completed seahorse. It's so rewarding to see them master a new technique and create something they love.

Serious drawing in progress! Here, my 8 to 15-year-old students are working on sketches for a 3D city project.

A burst of color and pattern! This artwork by my 4 to 7-year-old students is a wonderful exploration of different strokes and color combinations.

This intricate zentangle parrot was created by a student when he was just 12. My advanced classes are perfect for teens who want to dive deep into detailed art forms.

A beautiful zentangle dragonfly created by one of my adult students, but it's a technique I also teach to teens who enjoy detailed pattern work.

Bask in the warmth of these beautiful snowy winter lanterns. This mixed-media art by my 5 to 7-year-old students combines oil pastels and paint.

About Kids & Teens: Skill-Building Projects (Ages 4-15)

We go beyond simply making art, focusing instead on the 'how' behind every piece. In our 90 to 120 minute sessions, your child isn't just following instructions; they are learning essential skills like perspective, shading, and 3D paper engineering, ensuring they build a solid artistic foundation rather than just taking home a finished craft.

Our classes in Panchsheel Park are designed for students aged 4 to 15 who want to get serious about their craft. Over the last 30 years, I have seen that children thrive when they are given structured projects that challenge their motor skills and creative thinking.

What We Teach

Instead of generic worksheets, we dive into specific modules. Our young students learn:

  • Global Art History: Through themes like 'Project Mexico' or 'African Art', kids explore cultural aesthetics and integrate them into their own work.
  • Complex Mediums: From zentangle patterns and fine-liner techniques to canvas acrylics and 3D paper sculpture, we introduce materials that allow for real expression.
  • Composition & Perspective: Even the younger ones learn the fundamentals of framing a drawing, helping them see the world like an artist.

Why Our Approach Works

Process Over Product I believe the magic happens during the struggle and the experimentation. We encourage students to try, fail, and fix their mistakes. This builds the patience and problem-solving skills needed for any creative pursuit.

Small Batch Learning With limited seats, every student gets individual attention. This allows me to guide them on their specific strengths, whether they are a natural sketcher or prefer the bold experimentation of acrylic paints. We provide all high-quality supplies, from heavy-grade paper to professional studio paints, so students can focus entirely on their work.

Whether your child is looking to build a portfolio for design school or just wants a creative space to unwind after school, these sessions provide the technical backbone they need to grow.

I have been running these art classes since 1994, right here in Panchsheel Park. My approach is simple: I treat every student like an artist, focusing on the techniques that help them build true confidence. I would love to welcome your child into our studio family.
