Art for a Cause: Creating with Purpose
Art has the power to change the world, and I believe everyone has a role to play. I use my practice to support causes like education and mental health, turning creative sessions into opportunities to give back.
'Break the Silence' was a two day art festival for charity that I was proud to be a part of. This video highlights the art exhibitions, silent auctions, and workshops we held to fund a computer lab for underprivileged students.
This video shows the journey of creating my piece for the UN's SDGs Through Arts event. It was an amazing experience to paint alongside artists from around the world, all of us working to bring awareness to global sustainability goals.
A behind the scenes look at the live painting event for UNESCO and the United Nations in Bangalore. Seventeen artists came together, each representing one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals through their unique artwork.
This was an art soirée at Sublime Galleria in Bangalore, organized by FICCI FLO to raise funds for the Domestic Workers Rights Union. It is incredibly fulfilling when a gallery show can also serve a greater purpose in the community.
Here is our team of women artists working together outdoors to restore an upcycled mural. This project, made from electronic waste and discarded items, shows how collaborative art can transform forgotten materials into a public statement.
This plaque from FICCI FLO commemorates the creation of our upcycled mural, which now stands 10 feet tall at the T3 terminal of the New Delhi Airport. It is a powerful example of how art can promote sustainability and empower women artists.
About Art for a Cause: Creating with Purpose
When you join these sessions, you aren't just learning a technique; you are directly contributing to community initiatives. Whether we are hosting a silent auction at a gallery or teaching a group in a restored heritage space, the focus is always on using our shared time to support causes like education and mental health awareness. It is about leaving the room feeling like you made a small dent in the world.
Art, for me, has never been about just sitting in a quiet studio. It is about taking that energy outside and seeing what we can build together. From the upcycled mural I restored at Delhi Airport’s T3 terminal to the collaborative painting sessions I have led for UNESCO and the United Nations, my work is rooted in connection.
When I work with organizations like FICCI FLO, we aim for more than a pretty display. We aim for impact. Whether it is an art soirée to raise funds for domestic worker rights or a therapeutic drum circle, these are not just events; they are conversations in paint and movement.
When you join these workshops, you are often stepping into spaces with history, like the restored ‘Sabha’ heritage venue in Bangalore. You will be guided through techniques, yes, but you will also understand the why behind the strokes. We cover everything from upcycling electronic waste into installations to focused workshops on mental health. It is messy, it is real, and it is deeply fulfilling. Join me to see how your own creative journey can ripple out to help someone else.
