Functional Art: Hand-Painted Trays and Trolleys
I believe art belongs on your dining table, not just on your walls. These hand-painted trays, trolleys, and tableware sets bring a splash of storytelling to your everyday routines.
This serving trolley features a hand-painted pomegranate design. It’s a piece of functional art that’s perfect for entertaining, bringing a touch of nature-inspired beauty into your home.
A stack of my art-splashed table mats and trivets. Each one features a different design, from parrots to abstract patterns, allowing you to mix and match to create a beautiful table setting.
This video shows a variety of my functional art pieces, including hand-painted wooden bowls and decorative stools. Each item is designed to be both useful and beautiful, adding an artistic touch to everyday objects.
About Functional Art: Trays, Trolleys & More
The pieces here are not just for display. They use high-gloss enamel or lacquer finishes, which makes them heat and water-resistant. You can actually use that hand-painted pomegranate tray for your evening tea or coffee without worrying about spills or heat marks.
My goal is to make art a living part of your home. When I paint a trolley or a serving tray, I am thinking about how it fits into your daily life. Whether you are hosting friends or just setting down a cup of tea, these items are built to be handled and enjoyed.
Durability Meets Design
Most of my tableware and serving pieces are crafted from high-grade MDF or reclaimed wood. I finish them with high-gloss enamel or lacquer, which creates a tough, scratch-resistant surface. This means you do not have to baby these pieces. They are designed to stand up to the reality of a busy home, including dining table heat and moisture.
My Favorite Themes
Many of you have seen the 'Ek Aur Totta' (One More Parrot) series. That collection started with a simple moment of laughter and turned into a way to keep traditional Indian motifs relevant in modern homes. I also love working with pomegranate designs and other nature-inspired patterns because they feel fresh and timeless. From nesting box sets to velvet-lined tissue holders, these items act as conversation starters rather than just accessories.
Visit My Studio
If you want to see how these items feel in person, you are welcome to visit my studio in UB City, Bangalore, or my space in Moti Nagar, Delhi. Being able to touch the finish and see the colors against your own decor often helps in choosing the right piece. If you have a specific color palette in mind, I am happy to chat about custom options that might work for your space.
