Custom Ceremonial Furniture for Weddings
Your wedding isn't a catalogue event, so why should your seating be? I design custom ceremonial furniture that blends heritage motifs with modern functionality, crafted to make your sacred moments feel personal.
This video tells the story of the two unique hexagonal chowkis I created for Nita Ji and Radhika’s ashirwaad ceremony. We designed them in a soft peach hue and even did a stand test to ensure they were as sturdy as they were beautiful.
This custom chair was the centerpiece for the Grah Shanti Puja. I designed it with intricate hand carvings and a curated fabric in peach and brown tones to serve as special seating for the family during the ceremony.
For the priest seating, the brief was to use peaches, greens, and rusts with Indian carvings. I chose a calming mint green wood polish and adorned the seats with heritage motifs to honor the sacred moments of the havan.

About Bespoke Furniture for Special Occasions
When I design for a puja or wedding, I don't just sketch; I consider how the piece will actually be used. For instance, when I created the hexagonal chowkis for the Grah Shanti ceremony, we did a literal 'stand test' to make sure they were sturdy enough for the rituals. It is about merging beauty with the practical demands of a long ceremony.
Designing for a life event is a responsibility. You want furniture that looks right in the photos, yes, but more importantly, it needs to be comfortable and safe for the rituals themselves. Whether we are discussing the height of a havan chair so the priest can reach the fire comfortably, or the stability of a chowki for a long ceremony, the focus is always on utility meeting heritage.
My process usually starts with a conversation about your venue and the specific rituals you have planned. I source solid wood like teak or sheesham, and we use techniques that stand the test of time, not just the duration of the event. If you want a specific colour palette—like the mint green and peach combination we used for the Merchant family—or motifs that represent your family lineage, we sketch that out together.
We can also work with existing event decor themes. I often coordinate directly with your wedding planners to ensure my pieces do not just sit in the room, but actually enhance the design vision. If you have an idea, a sketch, or even just a colour you love, we can start there and build something unique for your family.
