About Additional Work & Techniques
If you’re struggling with makeup melting in Mumbai’s humidity, the secret isn't just expensive products, it's the prep. In my studio, I use a specific gel-based layering technique that grips the foundation to the skin, keeping it transfer-proof for up to 16 hours. You don't need a heavy mask; you need the right skin chemistry.
Behind the Brush: My Technique
Makeup isn't just about covering up; it’s an art of enhancing what you already have. My approach is rooted in practicality—if it doesn't last through a Mumbai wedding, it isn't 'perfect' yet.
Master the Base
Humidity is our biggest enemy. For my brides and students, I focus heavily on skin prep. Using gel-based moisturizers and primers that actually grip the skin is non-negotiable. Whether it's a party look or a 16-hour bridal event, my technique ensures the base doesn't move. You’ll often see me demonstrating this on real skin in my studio, not just dummies, because you need to know how product reacts to texture, vitiligo, or matured skin.
Precision Blending
Eyeshadow blending is where most people get stuck. I teach a structured approach: start with the crease, keep your brush pressure light, and blend until the colors are seamless. I love mixing vibrant pinks and greens for a traditional touch, but the technique of smudging your liner for a soft, smoky look is what truly elevates the eye.
Why I Teach
I believe that every girl should have the skill to stand on her own feet—apalya payavar ubha rahaycha. My academy isn't just about showing you how to hold a brush. It's about teaching you the business, the marketing, and the real-world client handling. When I do a demo for my students, I explain exactly why I’m using a specific shade or tool. I want you to walk away from my studio not just looking beautiful, but feeling confident enough to create that look on someone else.
