About Behind the Scenes & Pro Techniques
You know what scares most brides? Cakey makeup. My trick to a flawless, sweat-proof finish starts with product selection—specifically how I use a multi-use cream instead of layering heavy foundation, concealer, and corrector. It’s thinner, lighter, and stays put through the entire wedding heat. If you’re worried about coverage for pigmentation or birthmarks, I use this specific method to achieve that without the heavy, layered feel you get at a standard salon.
I’ve spent over 20 years in this industry, and the one thing I tell my students is that technique matters more than the brand of product you hold. When I am working on a bridal look, especially in Mumbai’s humidity, I don’t just slap on makeup. I perform a full skin analysis.
My approach is built on three pillars:
-
Waterproof Integrity: I don't just guess; I test. You’ll often see me doing a literal water-spray test on powders and bases to ensure they withstand sweat and heavy humidity. If a product absorbs water, it doesn't make the cut for my bridal kits.
-
Structural Hair Artistry: Whether it's a messy bun or a traditional South Indian braid, it needs a strong base. I teach my students to use the right crimping and setting techniques, like the '19-number curling rod' method, to ensure volume that doesn't fall flat halfway through a Sangeet night.
-
Modern Draping: Traditional draping is an art, but it shouldn't restrict you. I specialize in modifying styles like the Double Dupatta or Nauvari so you can move, dance, and breathe without everything coming undone.
Whether you are looking to hire me for your wedding or you are an aspiring artist looking to join my diploma courses, my focus is always the same: giving you the skills to create looks that last. If you want to know which products work for your skin type or how I manage to keep heavy bridal jewelry in place, just ask.
