The first time your puppy gets groomed is crucial because it sets the tone for their future visits. We don’t force them into a tub or a cage. Instead, we take the time to let them sniff around, get comfortable, and play a bit before we even start the bath. If they need a break, we take one, and we talk to them throughout to keep them calm.
We know that for many puppies, a loud, busy salon can be terrifying. That is exactly why we do things differently at our home in Horamavu.
When you bring your puppy to us for their first grooming session, we start slow. It is not just about the bath; it is about building trust. We introduce them to the water pressure, the sound of the dryer, and the feeling of the brush at their own pace. If your puppy gets anxious, we pause, offer some calm words, and maybe a few treats, so they learn that being handled is not a scary event.
Our process includes:
- Gentle, soap-free shampoos that do not sting their eyes.
- Handheld, quiet drying that mimics a soft breeze rather than a scary blast.
- Early exposure to nail trimming, done carefully so they don’t develop a fear of the clipper.
- Lots of patience, because we know puppies have short attention spans.
We don't believe in quick-fix grooming. We believe in making sure your puppy walks out feeling happy and clean, ready to come back again without any hesitation. Whether you have a tiny Indie puppy or a fluffy breed like a Husky or Shih Tzu, we are here to make their first salon experience a positive one.
