Flamingo Photography in Navi Mumbai
Witness the 'pink traffic jam' at Navi Mumbai's creek. A collection of raw, unposed flamingo moments captured right in my backyard.
The golden hour with thousands of flamingos is a surreal experience. The warm light reflects off the water, bathing the entire flock in a magical glow.
My village by the creek, the village of the flamingo birds. This shot captures the scale of the flock against the familiar Navi Mumbai skyline, a true urban wildlife spectacle.
A flock of flamingos takes to the sky over the mangroves and city buildings. It is amazing to see how nature thrives right here in our urban environment.
Hundreds of flamingos in flight against a clear blue sky. Each bird is a brushstroke in this massive, moving painting of nature.
The energy of the flock is palpable as they fly over the water. This is a daily sight during migration season, but it never gets old.
A wide shot showing the sheer number of flamingos, both in the water and in the air, with the city faintly visible in the distance.
A dynamic shot of flamingos in flight, with their long necks and legs creating beautiful lines against the urban background.
The sky filled with flamingos. Capturing the organised chaos of a flock this size is always a rewarding challenge.
Another perspective of the flamingo flock against the city, showing the contrast between the wild and the urban.
A view from a distance, showing the dense gathering of pink flamingos in their urban habitat, framed by the surrounding greenery.
About Navi Mumbai's Flamingo Village
You won't see any forced poses here because I believe in the patience of the wait. Whether it's the golden hour or the middle of the day, I stay still on the mudflats until the birds accept my presence, allowing me to capture their natural courtship and flight patterns without disturbance.
For me, the creek in Navi Mumbai is not just a location. It is 'खारीचे बाजूला हाय माझा गाव... रोहित पक्षांचे गाव' (My village is next to the creek, the village of flamingo birds). These images are the result of years spent observing their migration patterns. I use my Nikon setup to get close enough to see the details of their courtship dances without spooking the flock. When you join me for a session, we aren't just shooting; we are learning the behavior of the birds. I teach how to track a diving kingfisher or how to anticipate a flamingo taking flight against the city skyline. We usually stick to small groups of 1 or 2 people because silence is our best gear. I handle the technical settings, like shutter speeds for flight shots or finding the right angle, so you can focus on the thrill of the surprise sighting.

Hi, I'm Aashish. I'm a birder who lives right next to the Navi Mumbai creek. Camera is my therapy, and I spend most of my time waiting for that perfect shot of the flamingos or other local wildlife.
