Behind the Scenes: My Studio Process
Ever wonder how your kaleeras come to life? Take a peek into my Delhi studio where I hand-paint every detail to match your wedding vibe.
A little glimpse of my creative process. Here you can see the layout of a custom order, including the components for both the kaleeras and matching earrings before they are fully assembled.
About Miscellaneous
I spend days painting these miniature portraits, but the real trick is the finish. Every single piece gets multiple coats of high-grade sealant, so your kaleeras survive everything from turmeric stains at your Haldi to crazy dance moves at the reception.
People often ask how I manage to fit a whole love story onto a tiny kaleera pendant. It all starts here in my Delhi studio. I sketch the couple based on your photos, focusing on the small details that make you, you—like the shade of your lehenga or the specific style of your turban—using watercolor-effect acrylics.
Once the painting is done, the focus shifts to durability. These pieces are meant to be worn for hours, not just to look pretty in photos. I use high-quality gold-plated brass for the base, which is designed to resist tarnish. If we are working on statement earrings, I use lightweight MDF or polymer clay so you are not dragging heavy jewelry around all day.
Because every piece is custom-made, I usually need about 3 to 5 weeks to get everything perfect. This covers the painting, the drying time, and the final assembly with the pearls and bells. Whether you are in Delhi, Bangalore, or even Canada, I pack everything in reinforced hard-boxes with velvet lining to make sure they reach you safely. If you have a specific color palette for your Haldi or Mehendi, let me know. I can mix my paints to match your outfit perfectly.
