About Heritage & Tradition
Heritage shoots work best when the light is soft, so I usually schedule these during the golden hour to let the stone architecture and textures breathe. When choosing your outfits, stick to earthy tones or solid classics like a simple saree and mundu, because busy patterns often clash with the intricate details of old walls and wooden pillars.
Why Heritage Locations?
South Indian heritage architecture offers a unique texture that modern studios cannot replicate. Whether it is the ancient stone walls of a fort, the quiet symmetry of a temple pond, or the wooden pillars of an ancestral home, these locations add a sense of timelessness to your images.
My Approach to Heritage Shoots
I focus on natural chemistry within these historic spaces. We will not be doing stiff, posed portraits. Instead, I place you in areas with interesting lines and light, then capture how you interact with the environment and each other. The goal is to make the location a supporting character in your story rather than the main focus.
Location Planning
I often shoot in locations around Puttur, Sullia, and Mangaluru that offer this traditional vibe. We can plan for sunrise or sunset sessions, which provide the best natural light for highlighting architectural details. If you have a specific ancestral home or temple in mind that holds personal meaning for your family, I am happy to travel there to capture your story in a place that already feels like yours.
