About Coastal & Beach Romance
When we shoot at the beach, I don't look for perfect sunny days. I actually prefer the misty, overcast light we often get along the Mangaluru coast. It removes the harsh shadows and gives everything a soft, moody, cinematic quality that lets me focus entirely on your expressions rather than battling the sun.
My Approach to the Coast
The coast is dynamic. Whether it is the breakwaters, the open sand, or the quiet tide pools, I use the terrain to frame your story. My goal is to make you forget the camera exists. If you are laughing, walking, or just standing silently together, that is where the magic is. We do not do forced smiles or rigid standing positions. If the wind messes up your hair, we keep shooting. That is real.
Practical Advice for Your Shoot
- Timing: We usually shoot during the golden hour, either early morning or late afternoon, to get the best natural light. If the weather turns, we embrace it. A cloudy day on the coast is perfect for moody, intimate portraits.
- Outfits: Keep it simple. Coordinated casual wear usually works best against the sand and water. Avoid overly busy patterns or bright neon colours that distract from the landscape and your connection.
- Locations: I shoot everywhere from the serene beaches of Mangaluru to the dramatic shores near Bekal. We can find a spot that matches your comfort level, whether you want a busy, textured backdrop or a completely secluded stretch of sand.
- The Process: We spend 3 to 4 hours on location for essential sessions, or a full day for more complex stories. This gives us enough time to move around, get comfortable, and capture those moments that happen when you stop 'posing' and start just being with each other.
Ultimately, the photos should look like a memory you actually experienced, not a set you paid to stand in.
