About My Handcrafting Process
When you order from me, you are not getting a product picked off a shelf. You are getting a piece that is sanded, painted, and assembled right here in my studio. This process takes time, often requiring days for a single nameplate, because I prefer to get the details right rather than rush the finish. It is why no two pieces ever look exactly the same.
My Creative Process
Every project at Novel Ideas starts with a conversation. Whether you want a traditional Khunn fabric nameplate or a modern spiritual wall hanging, I believe in making you a part of the journey. I do not mass-produce anything.
Here is how I approach my work:
- Planning & Material: Everything starts with high-quality, weather-resistant MDF or ply bases. I select my materials based on where they will live—whether it is a kitchen sign meant to survive humidity or a living room nameplate.
- The Painting Phase: This is my therapy. I hand-paint every floral motif, Warli pattern, and decorative accent. Because I use a brush instead of a machine, you might see tiny variations in every piece. That is my stamp of authenticity.
- Assembly & Finishing: I work with 3D laser-cut acrylic and MDF lettering to give your name or quotes depth. Once painted, I carefully assemble the layers, attach the back hooks, and add those extra touches like brass bells or ghungroos to add that traditional Maharashtrian charm.
- Quality Check: Before I pack anything, I look at it as if it were going into my own home. If it does not make me smile, I start over.
My team and I are small but dedicated, and we treat every bulk order or single gift with the same level of heart. We are currently based in Borivali West, and I love seeing my work travel to your homes across India.
