How It's Made: My Handmade Process

Ever wonder how your custom pieces come to life? Take a peek behind the scenes at how I turn simple wire and yarn into little treasures for your home. ✨

Let's pack these beautiful gifts. Each order is carefully wrapped to ensure it arrives safely and looks lovely. These knitted names make the perfect keepsake gift for little ones.

Here is an easy way to make a knitted heart to add to a name sign. I use a bit of glue to secure the ends, creating a perfect little accent for your personalized decor.

Let's make a knitted butterfly. I use 3mm aluminum craft wire, which is sturdy but can be bent into these delicate shapes with the help of pliers.

Let's make these gifts more beautiful. I take great care in packaging each handmade item, finishing it with a pretty bow to make it feel like a special present.

This is a real-time video of me bending the wire for the letter 'n'. I use a template to ensure the shape is perfect before covering it with yarn.

Here I am knotting macrame clouds. These fluffy little clouds are a sweet addition to my name wall hangings, adding texture and a dreamy feel.

Here are the basic things you need to make knitted names: aluminum craft wire, lightweight yarn, and an iCord maker. It's a craft that requires patience and love.

About this collection

Every wire piece starts with a paper template to ensure the lettering is perfect. Once the structure is bent and secured, I use my iCord maker to knit the soft cotton yarn that covers the wire. It is a slow, meditative process, but it ensures that every name or shape feels soft to the touch and is ready to hang on your wall. 🧶

From Wire to Wall

I believe in the magic of things made by hand. Because everything I create is custom, I don't use factory molds. Instead, I use 3.2mm aluminum craft wire, which I carefully bend by hand using pliers and paper templates. This allows me to create organic, cursive lettering that feels human, not machine-made.

The iCord Technique

Once the wire structure is ready, I use a mechanical iCord maker to knit the cotton yarn tube that encases it. This technique, often called Tricotin, gives the name signs that signature soft, plush look. For themed pieces like hot air balloons or animals, I mix this wire technique with traditional macrame knotting. I spend time brushing out fringe, stiffening leaves, and ensuring the knots are tight so they last for years in your child's room.

Packaging with Care

I treat packaging as part of the creative process. Since these are often sent as gifts for baby showers or first birthdays, I wrap them in paper, secure them with ribbon, and add my stamp. I want the experience of opening the parcel to feel just as lovely as the piece inside. If you have a specific color palette in mind for a gift, please let me know. I love matching threads to your nursery theme.
