About Our Champions & Selections
Selection at the state or national level is not just about raw talent, it happens when a player masters specific skills like defensive chains or raiding tactics under pressure. At Shri Balaji Kabaddi Academy, we train for these trial scenarios by simulating tournament conditions, focusing on the mental game just as much as physical fitness.
Every trophy on our shelf and every selection letter is a result of consistent practice in our Anandpur village ground. We do not believe in shortcuts. Whether it is a sub-junior tournament or the Khelo India trials, the preparation starts months in advance.
The Path to Selection
When a student joins us, the first thing I tell them is that the mat or mud is where you reveal your true potential. Our selection prep includes:
- Simulation Training: We hold intra-academy matches with refereeing to mimic the pressure of a real tournament environment.
- Technique Refinement: We work on specific high-value moves like the Dubki and Chain Tackle, which are often the deciding factors in state-level trials.
- Physical Conditioning: From tire flips to stair climbing, our fitness drills are designed to ensure our boys have the stamina to last through full-day tournament schedules.
