At NLI, we believe a child's foundation in language should be built on curiosity, not constant correction. Here is how we make grammar and phonics a natural part of their growth.

Understanding uncountable nouns is a key grammar concept. Here, a student explains that words like 'fish,' 'fruit,' and 'cheese' can be both countable and uncountable depending on the context. This helps build a solid grammar foundation.

We make grammar lessons interactive and engaging. In this session, a student learns about collective nouns, discovering that a group of birds is a 'flock,' a group of wolves is a 'pack,' and a group of fish is a 'school.'

This video focuses on building vocabulary with adjectives ending in 'able' or 'ible.' A student learns words like 'edible,' 'indispensable,' and 'impeccable,' which enhances his descriptive language skills.

Identifying parts of speech is a fundamental grammar skill. Our student Kabir confidently identifies nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, and conjunctions in this quick-fire quiz, showing his strong understanding.

We address common grammar mistakes to improve accuracy. Our students explain rules like using the base form of a verb with 'did' and avoiding double negatives, helping them write and speak correctly.

Acronyms are a part of everyday language. In this video, a student decodes common acronyms like 'FAQ' for 'frequently asked questions' and 'RIP' for 'rest in peace,' improving her language comprehension.

Phonics is the key to unlocking reading. Our summer camp poster highlights the "Magic Sounds" program, which includes sensory alphabet adventures and creative art to make learning letter sounds a magical experience for young children.

Our phonics educator, Nancy, explains how our program helps children become "word wizards." We use fun learning, magical stories, and interactive activities to teach sounds and build a strong foundation for reading.

Learning the 'ch' sound is so much fun. This graphic shows various words that begin with 'ch,' like chair, chip, and cheese, helping our young learners associate the sound with familiar objects.

Phonics should be fun and hands-on. Here, a young student learns the 'k' sound for 'cookie' and 'capsicum,' connecting the letter sound with real objects, which makes the learning process more concrete and memorable.

About English Language Toolkit: Grammar, Phonics & Spelling

Instead of endless drills, I focus on the 'why' behind language. Whether it's understanding collective nouns or mastering tricky phonics sounds, we use hands-on games to ensure your child isn't just memorizing rules, but actually feeling the rhythm and structure of English. It’s about building confidence so they can speak without the fear of being wrong.
