About Navratri Nights: The Celebration
When I teach, we focus on more than just the steps. We practice how to coordinate those complex Dakla spins with your outfit's flare so you look effortless. It is about understanding the fabric, the weight of your chaniya choli, and finding your balance so you can dance for hours without feeling off-center.
The energy at a real Garba night is a completely different beast compared to studio practice. Whether we are at the Shakti Raas Utsav or a local society event, the goal is to take what we learn in class and turn it into pure instinct. My workshops in Navi Mumbai and Thane are built to bridge that gap.
We break down essential Garba steps like Hudo and 2 Taali into manageable movements. You do not need to be a pro to start. I work with beginners to help them master the rhythm of Dodhiya and more advanced formations. If you have been struggling with footwork or get dizzy during barrel spins, we tackle those technicalities in the studio with full length mirrors so you can correct your posture in real time.
Beyond the technique, it is about the vibe. My classes are a mix of traditional Garba and fusion styles, ensuring you have the versatility to handle any track. We also focus on stage presence and how to use facial expressions to keep the audience engaged. Most of my students come in nervous about performing, but they leave with the confidence to own the dance floor during the full nine nights of Navratri.
