About My Life as a Makeup Artist
You only see the final result on Instagram, but the real magic happens during the prep. Whether I am color-correcting for a specific skin tone or fixing a winged liner, my priority is making you feel calm and confident. I do not believe in masking who you are; I am here to bring out your natural glow without any judgment, because makeup should always feel like you.
Being a makeup artist in Navi Mumbai is about more than just owning high-end products from brands like NARS, MAC, and Bobbi Brown. It is about understanding the science of skin, knowing how to handle humidity in Mumbai, and, most importantly, listening to the person sitting in my chair. At my Nerul studio, I see everything—from clients who have had bad experiences elsewhere to students who are nervous about picking up a brush.
My work is defined by a few core principles:
- Real Skin Prep: Flawless makeup is impossible without a solid base. I focus heavily on identifying your skin type, whether it is oily or dry, and choosing the right products to prevent that dreaded cakey finish.
- No Masking: My goal is never to hide your features. If you are worried about looking 'too different,' we will start with a light, buildable application. We focus on enhancing what you already have, not replacing it.
- The Education Angle: Running the NG School of Beauty keeps me on my toes. Teaching forces me to stay updated with the latest techniques, from cut creases to complex hair updos. When I teach, I focus on the 'why'—why do we use this primer, why does this color corrector work—so you can actually repeat the look at home.
