About Industry Exposure & Practical Training
When we say 'learning by doing,' we mean it. Our hospitality students didn't just study about events; they volunteered at the 11th HRANI Conclave at Le Meridien, managing the facilitation desk and dais. It is this kind of high-pressure, real-world exposure that adds actual value to your resume long before you graduate.
Beyond the Classroom
We believe that true industry readiness happens outside the lecture hall. Our curriculum at the Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (IHMCT) is designed to get you comfortable in professional environments.
Key Practical Experiences:
-
Industrial Visits & Tours: We take our students to where the action is. Our recent 'Grape to Glass' educational tour in Nashik gave students an inside look at commercial wine production, beverage service standards, and international market supply chains. It is a macro view of the food and beverage industry that you simply cannot get from a book.
-
Event Volunteering: Students gain hands-on experience at high-profile industry events like the HRANI Conclave. By assisting with facilitation and event management, you learn how to handle guests, manage schedules, and work alongside seasoned industry professionals. It builds networking opportunities and gives you a taste of the pace required in luxury hospitality.
-
Skill-Based Lab Work: Our campus at Jai Singh Road features mock restaurant setups and kitchen labs where you learn essential service etiquette, knife skills, and front office operations. These aren't just simulations; they are preparation for your ODC (Outdoor Catering) gigs, where you can start earning and learning simultaneously.
This hands-on approach is why our placement record remains strong. When you have already navigated a real industry event, stepping into a full-time role becomes a natural transition rather than a daunting challenge.
