My approach at Narumugai is simple: I highlight what is already there. Many brides come to me worried about how HD makeup will sit on their skin or if it will look too heavy. By sharing these unedited videos, I want to show you the reality. You will see how we handle different skin types, from correcting discoloration for a clean base to setting makeup that survives the humidity of a traditional wedding ceremony.
What to Expect in Your Session
- Skin Prep: Every session starts with Korean-style hydration, using sheet masks and under-eye patches to ensure your skin is prepped to hold makeup all day.
- Customized Palettes: For dusky skin tones, I focus on choosing shades that illuminate rather than hide. We avoid the ashy look by carefully testing foundation and lipstick shades against your saree color before we start.
- Heat-Resistant Finish: Whether it is a long Muhurtham with fire (Homam) or a sweaty outdoor engagement, my HD long-wear liquid foundations are chosen to remain flawless without melting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you use airbrush or HD? I use both, depending on your skin type and the event. HD is often better for a natural, skin-like finish that lasts, while airbrush gives that ultra-smooth, matte look.
Can I bring my own jewellery? Absolutely, but my rental jewellery collection is curated specifically to match the traditional styles I create, so you are welcome to browse the studio collection when you arrive.
How long does the process take? For a full Muhurtham session, expect about 4 hours. This includes the intricate floral braiding (Poola Jada) and the time needed for draping. I always recommend we start early so you don't feel rushed.
