About Featured
When I teach Bharatanatyam to beginners, we focus on internalizing the rhythm before perfecting the pose. We use the traditional 'ta tei tei ta' method, which helps young students naturally grasp the footwork. In my Defence Colony studio, I keep batches small, with just four to eight students, so I can personally guide every child's posture and alignment.
At my studio in Defence Colony, dance is more than just learning a series of steps. It is about understanding the connection between rhythm, music, and the body. Whether you are enrolling your child in Bharatanatyam or joining my Flamenco workshops, my approach remains grounded in technique and personal growth.
For Bharatanatyam, we start at the very basics, ensuring students understand 'Hastas' and 'Adavus' before moving to more complex pieces. My goal is to build a foundation that creates confidence, not just muscle memory. My Flamenco classes offer a different energy. They are dynamic and expressive, focusing on the percussive footwork that makes this Spanish art form so unique. The studio space is designed for this practice, featuring shock-absorbing wooden floors and large mirrors that are essential for correcting body alignment.
I also offer private one-on-one sessions for those who need specific choreography for events or want to work on advanced technique correction. Regardless of the class, I maintain a disciplined yet warm environment, keeping groups small to provide the mentorship and individual feedback that every learner deserves.
