Children’s Music Education & Exam Preparation
See how we blend Indian sargam and Western theory to help children find their rhythm. From early Harmony Sessions to international ABRSM certifications, here is what learning music looks like at our Gurugram conservatories.
Here is a glimpse into our Harmony Sessions for early beginners. We blend Indian sargam with Western solfege, helping children learn to play by ear and sing along right from the start. This foundational approach makes learning music intuitive and fun.
A positive and encouraging environment is key to a child's learning. Our experienced instructors build a wonderful rapport with each student, making lessons a time of fun, safety, and genuine connection.
We provide hands-on guidance in our one-on-one instrumental classes. Here, an instructor helps a young student with correct finger placement for chords on an acoustic guitar, an essential step in mastering the instrument.
Our lessons combine practical playing with essential music theory. This student is in a violin training session, referencing both sheet music and notes on the whiteboard that explain concepts like solfege hand signs and musical notation.
Group singing is a joyful experience for our youngest learners. In these Harmony Sessions, children under 9 develop their voices, learn to sing together, and build social confidence in a lively, supportive setting.
We celebrate every milestone in a student's musical journey. Here, a proud student holds her Certificate of Completion for the Western Vocals Beginners Program, a testament to her hard work and dedication.
Our piano and keyboard classes cater to all ages and skill levels. Students get focused instruction using individual workstations with headphones, allowing them to practice and learn at their own pace in our Gurugram conservatory.
Whether it's guitar, piano, vocals, or cello, there's a world of music waiting for your child. We invite you to book a free trial lesson to experience our teaching methods and find the perfect instrument for your young musician.
About Featured
If you are considering enrolling your child, note that our group foundation classes (ages 4–7) prioritize general musicality over single-instrument mastery. We limit these batches to 4–6 children to ensure the instructor can provide individual attention while still fostering the social confidence that comes from singing and learning rhythm alongside peers.
Our Approach to Music Education
At The Metropolitan School of Music, we move beyond the idea of music as a casual hobby. We structure our curriculum around international standards, providing a clear path from early childhood exploration to advanced certifications. Whether your child is just starting with basic rhythm or preparing for high-grade ABRSM or Trinity examinations, we offer a disciplined, engaging environment at our locations in Nirvana Country and Uppal Southend.
Programs for Different Stages
- Harmony Sessions (Early Beginners): Designed for children under 9, these sessions focus on ear training, pitch correction, and understanding the basics of both Western solfege and Indian sargam. The goal is to build a foundation that allows students to comfortably transition into any instrument or vocal style later.
- Instrumental & Vocal Training: We offer one-on-one instruction for Piano, Guitar, Violin, Drums, and Vocals. Each lesson includes a mix of practical playing, music theory, and sight-reading, ensuring students understand the 'why' behind the notes they play.
- Certification Prep: For serious learners, our faculty provides rigorous preparation for ABRSM and Trinity board exams. This includes theory, composition, and practical performance, helping students track their progress against a global benchmark.
