About Actor & Model Portfolios
When we shoot your portfolio, we focus on versatility. I do not just capture a static image; we work on movement and expression to ensure your book stands out to agencies. We will use a mix of studio lighting and natural light, and with live tethering, you see exactly what I see on the monitor in real-time, allowing us to adjust posing and angles on the spot until the frame is right.
For an actor or model, your portfolio is your primary tool for professional representation. My approach is to strip away unnecessary distractions. We use clean backgrounds to keep the focus entirely on your face and form.
I offer two distinct directions for these shoots:
- Classic Studio: High-contrast, clean lighting setups suitable for agency composites and professional headshots.
- Environmental & Test Shoots: More dynamic, narrative-driven portraits that show your range and personality outside of a rigid studio environment.
On set, I use live tethering to a monitor. This is crucial for professional work. It allows you to see the frame instantly, letting us tweak your posture, the angle of your chin, or your expression without wasting time. This is not about taking pictures but about constructing the right image for your specific casting needs.
Please note that I do not provide hair and makeup artists as part of the standard package. You should arrive camera-ready. The sessions are intensive, running 3 hours to ensure we get a variety of looks without rushing the process. If you have specific agency requirements or reference boards, bring them along; we will integrate them into our shoot plan.
