The Art of Custom Couture: From Sketch to Stitch
Ever wonder how a concept becomes a finished garment? Take a look at the hands-on process behind my custom creations in Rohini, where every embroidery stitch and fabric fold is intentional.
This video offers a glimpse into the making of a dream outfit. It highlights the meticulous hand-embroidery and beadwork that form the neckline and border of a custom magenta saree. This level of craftsmanship is what makes each piece a unique work of art, created with passion and skill.
About From Sketch to Stitch: The Design Process
Most studios send drawings to a factory, but I work differently. Every piece here starts on a dress form right in my studio, not on a computer. Whether it is intricate Zardosi work on a festive saree or the structural boning for a ball gown, I sit with the karigars (artisans) to guide the handwork personally. This ensures that the embroidery on your neckline is not just symmetrical but comfortable enough to wear all day without itching.
Why the Fitting Matters
Ready-made garments are designed for a standard shape, but you are unique. That is why I insist on dummy fittings. This technique allows us to see how the fabric drapes and moves in 3D before a single permanent stitch is made. It solves the biggest pain point of shopping online: fit issues.
The Craftsmanship Behind the Seams
My team and I focus on the hidden details that define quality. For ethnic sets, we ensure the Gota Patti borders are hand-finished so they do not snag on delicate fabrics like organza or silk. For children’s party wear, we use hypoallergenic cotton linings because nothing ruins a special day faster than an itchy dress.
True fashion is born from a conversation. We start by discussing your vision, your comfort, and where the outfit will be worn. Whether it is a bridal saree or a pageant gown, my goal is to give you a piece that feels like an extension of your personality. It is about patience, precision, and the belief that if you look good, you feel good. Let us turn your idea into reality.
