Vibrant Color Pencil Art Portraits
I bring your favorite moments to life using professional wax and oil-based pencils. Whether it is a tribute to a movie star or a special portrait, I focus on capturing every texture and detail.
A close-up look at the creation of my Theyyam artwork. This video shows the careful layering of color pencils required to achieve the rich, vibrant reds and intricate facial details of the performer.
A finished color pencil portrait of Kannada rapper Chandan Shetty. I used a bright red jacket to make the portrait pop, showing how color can add energy and personality.
My color sketch of Rocking Star Yash from the movie KGF. I used a mix of color and graphite pencils to capture the intense look and rugged style of his iconic character.
A color sketch of actor Kiccha Sudeep in his look from "The Villain". The challenge here was recreating the texture of the fabric headwrap and his intense gaze using only color pencils.
This "Click and Draw" video shows my process for recreating a Fossil watch. From the digital reference on screen to the finished color pencil drawing, you can see how I match colors and details perfectly.
A classic still-life drawing of a fruit basket. This piece was an exercise in capturing different textures and vibrant colors, from the shine on the apples to the translucency of the grapes.
A black cobra drawn with color pencils on black paper. Using a dark background allows the subtle highlights on the scales to stand out, creating a dramatic and menacing effect.
A fun and expressive color pencil portrait of Sachin Shetty. Capturing unique expressions like this is a challenge I really enjoy as an artist.
My color sketch of DJ Alok from the game Free Fire. I focused on the reflection in his sunglasses to add a layer of realism and detail to this popular character portrait.
A color pencil portrait of Kannada rapper Rahul Dit-O. This piece shows how I combine different colors to create realistic skin tones and capture the subject's cool style.
About Vibrant Color Pencil Art
When I create these color pencil portraits, I do not just sketch. I build layers using professional oil-based pencils like Polychromos on acid-free paper. Every piece is finished with a UV-resistant varnish to stop color yellowing. This ensures your portrait looks just as vibrant years from now as it does the day you receive it. Send me your reference photo, and I will tell you how we can bring those specific colors to life.
The process starts with your vision. Whether you have a clear reference photo of a family member or a conceptual idea for a tribute, we discuss the composition first. I use a layering technique with wax-based pencils to achieve deep, rich colors that standard graphite cannot reach. For skin tones, I blend carefully to match natural complexions, using white gel pens to add highlights in eyes and jewelry.
My studio is in Arekere, Bengaluru, where I handle all local projects personally. If you are further away, do not worry. I use rigid mailing tubes to ensure your artwork arrives safely and in perfect condition. Since these are manual, time-intensive pieces, I appreciate clients who share their ideas with a little patience. I am equally comfortable drawing Kannada superstars like Kiccha Sudeep as I am capturing the intricate facial paints of Theyyam performers. If you want something that feels personal, hand-crafted, and durable, let us talk.
