Artistic Explorations in Gouache and Acrylics
Sometimes I step away from my usual florals to try something different. This collection is where I experiment with iconic styles and new creative techniques.
This piece is my tribute to Van Gogh's iconic style. I created my own version of a starry night, complete with sunflowers, using gouache on watercolor paper. It was a fun challenge to blend my love for flowers with his legendary technique.
About this collection
When I step outside my usual subjects to experiment with iconic styles, I stick to the same professional-grade gouache and 300 GSM paper I use for all my work. This ensures that whether I am paying tribute to a classic master or trying a new technique, you receive a durable, high-quality painting that stays true to the intended colors.
Art is my therapy, and sometimes that therapy looks like challenging myself to paint in a way I have not tried before. This gallery is my creative playground. Here, you will find my tributes to great masters, like my recent Van Gogh interpretation, alongside experiments with composition and mood that I do not always include in my main floral collections.
Why I Use Gouache and Acrylics
I choose my materials carefully because I want your art to last. For these pieces, I mostly use:
- Gouache: I love this medium for its velvety, matte finish and opacity. It allows for those soft, dreamlike gradients that define my style.
- Professional Grade Paper: I exclusively use 300 GSM cotton paper, like Arches or Baohong, which handles paint layers beautifully without warping.
Can I Customise These?
If you see a style here that you love, we can definitely adapt it. If you want a piece inspired by a specific artist, a movie aesthetic, or a particular color palette, I am happy to discuss how we can bring that vision to life. Because I paint everything by hand in my Bangalore studio, no two pieces are ever identical. Every brushstroke is an original choice, made in the moment.
Whether it is a homage to a classic or a new experiment, my focus is always on creating something that brings that same peaceful, nature-inspired energy into your space.
Pankhuri
I am Pankhuri. Painting is my escape, and sometimes that escape involves challenging myself with new styles and techniques. If you see a piece here that sparks something in you, I would love to chat about making it yours.
