Expressive and Abstract Portrait Paintings
I explore raw emotion and loose, textured brushwork to create portraits that feel alive. These pieces are my way of finding peace in a convoluted mind, and I hope they bring that same solace to your space.

About this collection
When I work on these abstract pieces, I build texture using palette knives and heavy-body acrylics, so the surface has real, tactile depth. Since these are gallery-wrapped, they arrive ready to hang without you needing to worry about sourcing a frame. When we discuss your commission, let me know if you prefer a high-gloss varnish for extra shine or a satin finish for a more subtle look.
My approach to abstract painting is all about letting go of perfection. Whether it is a portrait or a cosmic-themed piece, I focus on capturing the energy of the subject rather than just a photographic likeness. I primarily use professional-grade acrylics and oils, layering the paint to create that signature thick texture that catches the light differently throughout the day.
How I Create Your Piece
Every abstract painting is a bespoke commission. We start by discussing the vibe you are looking for. Do you want bold, high-contrast colors? Maybe something monochrome with deep, moody textures? You share the references or the concept, and I translate that into my style. I use pre-stretched, gallery-wrapped canvases ranging from 16x20 inches to 24x30 inches, and I finish every piece with a protective varnish to ensure it stays vibrant and dust-free for years.
Why Abstract?
I find that loose brush strokes allow me to express things that a clean, realistic portrait cannot. It is about the 'in-between' moments and the emotion behind the face. If you have a favorite photo that you feel captures a specific moment in your life, I can transform that into an abstract interpretation that feels less like a static image and more like a feeling you can hang on your wall.
Megha Vinod
I am Megha, and honestly, art is just my way of untangling my thoughts. I run Tristellart with the simple idea that your vibe deserves a craft to match it, so I pour my focus into every messy, textured stroke. When I am not acting or designing, you will find me at my studio, trying to make sense of the world through colors.
