Classic and Romantic Rose Paintings

Red roses are a classic for a reason. This process video shows how I build up the layers of gouache on textured paper, starting with a blank slate and slowly forming the iconic shape and deep color of the rosebuds.

Yellow roses symbolize friendship and joy, so I wanted this piece to feel bright and sunny. This video shows me painting a yellow rose from life, focusing on capturing its cheerful color and the structure of its petals using gouache.

Sometimes, art is the only thing that calms the chaos. This video captures a moment of finding peace in my studio, using a real rose as a reference to create a detailed botanical painting on thick watercolor paper.
